Rain in Malaga
There were 117.7 millimetres (4.6 ins.) of rain during November, and that was nearly 40% above average. There were 9 days with measurable rain and that was 2 days above the monthly average. There were light showers on both the 3rd and 4th but the rain was insignificant. There were further showers on the 5th and 6th, but rainfall amounts were under 1 millimetre (0.04 ins.) on both days. On the 14th a little rain fell in the evening, but again it was not measurable. The 20th marked a transition to much more unsettled weather. Although the showers on the evening of the 20th were too light to trouble the rain-gauge, rain late on the 21st totalled almost 12 millimetres (0.5 ins.) Heavy rain in the morning, and a few mostly light showers later in the day, produced a total of over 22 millimetres (0.9 ins.) on the 22nd. Showers on the 23rd gave less than 1 millimetre (0.04 ins.) of rain and the 24th was a dry day. The 25th was a miserable day and heavy rain late in the afternoon and during the evening produced in excess of 8 millimetres (0.3 ins.). The following day, the 26th, was much wetter. In fact it was the wettest November day for 10 years with 60.5 millimetres (2.4 ins.) falling. The rain continued through the 27th with over 12 millimetres (0.5 ins.) measured. An overnight shower gave 1 millimetre (0.04 ins.) of rain on the 28th but the last 2 days of the month were dry.
Thunder
There was 1 ‘day’ of thunder in this part of west Malaga during November and this was early on the evening of the 26th when a couple of muffled rumbles occurred.
Wind
The wind pattern through much of November was typical for a late autumn month with the sea breeze becoming less dominant allowing northwesterly land breezes to last longer through the mornings and returning earlier in the evenings. However, during the unsettled spell winds were more variable, and on the 25th and 26th a Levanter blew from the east-southeast accompanied by some crashing waves. On most days the wind was gentle of moderate, but gusts exceeded 20 knots (23 mph) on 5 days, including 2 days, the 25th and 26th, when gusts were over 30 knots (34 mph). The highest gust was 35 knots (40 mph) on the 26th.
Fog
There was no fog observed in west Malaga during November.
