The most persistent, and often strongest, northwesterly winds were associated with the highest temperatures, whereas the early onset of sea breezes produced the coolest days. On 6 days the maximum gusts were above 20 knots (23 mph), with 29 knots (33 mph) recorded in east-southeasterlies on the 4th, and 24 knots (28 mph) measured in the surprisingly cool northwesterlies on the 20th.
Fog
Early fog occurred on the 15th but it had cleared by mid-morning.
