Temperatures
The average maximum temperature during August 2025 in Malaga was 31.3 Celsius (88F), and that was 1.2 Celsius (2F) above normal for the time of year. The average minimum temperature was 23.0 Celsius (73F), and that was 0.2 Celsius (<0.5F) above average for August. Overall, although temperatures in August were well above average, it was still the coolest August for 4 years.
The highest temperature recorded during the month was 36.2 Celsius (97F) on the 19th, but 35.1 Celsius (95F) occurred on the 20th, and 35.0 Celsius (95F) was recorded on the 27th. A further 8 days had maxima above 32 Celsius (90F). With 1 exception, all the other days had maxima ranging from 28 to 32 Celsius (82-90F). The 1 exception was on the 22nd, when the temperature only rose to 24.2 Celsius (76F).
The warmest night in August was the 20th, with a minimum temperature of 25.0 Celsius (77F). However, on 4 other nights the temperature stayed above 24 Celsius (75F), including lows of 24.8 Celsius (77F) on the 18th, and 24.4 Celsius (76F) on both the 8th and 17th. Winds during August were typical of a late Summer month, with southeasterly sea breezes dominating northwesterly land breezes early in the month, with the land breezes becoming more dominant after mid month. On most days the winds were light or gentle. In fact, only 1 day had gusts exceeding 20 knots (23 mph). On the 28th, there were several gusts of 22 knots (25 mph) from a northwesterly direction.
