Wind
It was a windy month with brisk northwesterly land breezes occurring on many days, especially early in the month. Although there was plenty of sunshine, and out of the wind it was pleasant enough, the persistent breeze continued to dry out the flora, and the greening of the countryside, normally complete by December, was absent. There were 12 days with gusts over 20 knots (23 mph), with 28 knots (32 mph) recorded on the 11th, 16th and 28th, with 29 knots (33 mph) occurring on the 10th. The gusts occurring on the 28th were the only ones above 20 knots (23 mph) after the 19th, with winds generally light and more variable in direction after that date.
Fog
Misty low cloud, occasionally descended to the surface on the 31st producing patchy fog.
