Very Dry and Mild, but often Cloudy

Temperatures
The average maximum temperature during February 2022 in Malaga was 18.5 Celsius (65F), and that was 1.2 Celsius (2 F) above normal for the time of year. The average minimum temperature was 11.4 Celsius (53F), and that was 1.4 Celsius (>2 F) above normal for February.
The highest temperature recorded during the month was 22.7 Celsius (73F) on the 16th, but there were 8 other days with maxima above 20 Celsius (68F), including 4 out of the first 5 days of February. On 3 of these milder days, the temperature exceeded 21 Celsius (70F), with highs of 21.7 Celsius (71F) on the 4th, 21.1 Celsius (70F) on the 17th, and 21.4 Celsius (70F) on the 19th. Although there were several mild days, many rather cool and cloudy days occurred. On 10 occasions the temperature failed to rise above 17 Celsius (63F). These cooler days were clustered between the 7th and 12th, and again at the end of the month when each of the last 5 days had maxima below 17 Celsius (63F). Even though there were many sub-17 days, only 3 of the cooler days had highs below 16 Celsius (61F). On the 9th, a high of 15.8 Celsius (60F) occurred, with 15.9 Celsius (61F) recorded on the 12th, but the coolest day of the month was the 28th with a maximum of 15.7 Celsius (60F).
There were no especially mild nights during February, but a minimum of 15.1 Celsius (59F) occurred on the 5th, and extensive cloud cover prevented significant cooling on many other nights, allowing a further 5 nights to record minima above 14 Celsius (57F). On most nights (16) minimum temperatures were between 10 and 14 Celsius (50-57F), but on 6 nights the temperature fell below 10 Celsius (50F). However, only 2 of these cooler nights had minima below 8 Celsius (46F). On the 2nd, a low of 6.4 Celsius (44F) was recorded, with 7.9 Celsius (46F) occurring around dawn on the 8th.
The sea temperature was 15 Celsius (59F) almost throughout the month.
Rain
There were 1.6 millimetres (0.1 ins.) of rain during February. That was just 3% of the monthly average. Since the end of May, less than 45 millimetres (1.8 ins.) of rain have fallen, and that’s less than 15% of the average for the 9 month period. In February, measurable rain fell on 3 days, which is 4 days below average for the time of year. The month was completely dry until the 24th, but on that day there was rain for a while in the evening and that produced 1.2 millimetres (0.05 ins.). A shower in the early hours of the 25th added another 0.2 millimetres (0.01 ins.) to the monthly total, and early morning rain on the last day of the month gave another 0.2 millimetres (0.01 ins.).
Thunder
No thunder was heard in this part of Malaga, but lightning was observed to the south and southeast on the evening of the 25th.
Wind
Apart from the second week, February was another quite windy month. During the warmer weather in the first week, and again just after mid month, there were fresh land breezes from the northwest, but an east to southeasterly ‘levanter’ gave some windy weather, and high seas, during the last week of the month. On 7 days the gusts exceeded 20 knots (23 mph), with the highest gust of 30 knots (34 mph) occurring on the 26th.
Fog
No fog was observed in this part of Malaga during February.
