Temperatures
The average maximum temperature during June 2017 in Malaga was 28.7 Celsius (84F), and that was 1.8 Celsius (3F) above normal for the time of year. The average minimum temperature was 21.0 Celsius (70F), and that was also 1.8 Celsius (3F) above the normal June value. It was the warmest June since records began in 2006.
The highest temperature recorded during the month was 35.2 Celsius (96F) on the 27th, but there were 8 other days when the temperature rose above 30 Celsius (86F), including a high of 33.4 Celsius (92F) on the 5th and 32.0 Celsius (90F) on the 26th. Only 1 of the warmer days occurred before mid month. There were no particularly cool days during June; in fact only 5 days had maxima below the usual June average of 26.9 Celsius (81F), with all of these cooler days occurring before mid month. There were only 2 days when the temperature stayed below 25 Celsius (77F), the 3rd, with a high of 24.1 Celsius (75F), and the 9th, when 23.7 Celsius (75F) was recorded.
There were many warm nights during June, with the majority of the warmer nights occurring after mid month. On the 25th the temperature only fell to 25.1 Celsius (77F), and although the next warmest night was 23.2 Celsius (73F), there were a further 17 nights when the temperature remained above 20 Celsius (68F). There were 11 nights when the temperature fell below 20 Celsius (68F), with only 1 of these cooler nights occurring after the 13th. The 30th was the third coolest night of the month with a minimum of 19.1 Celsius (66F), but the joint coolest nights were the 7th and 10th when lows of 18.4 Celsius (65F) were recorded.
The sea temperature, around 19 or 20 Celsius (66-68F) at the beginning of the month, steadily rose to a warm 23 or 24 Celsius towards the end of June. However, right at the end of the month an upwelling of cold water occurred and the sea temperature dipped to a chilly 18 or 19 Celsius (64-66F).
Rain in Malaga
There was no rain in west Malaga during June.

There were no reports of hail in west Malaga during June.
Thunder
There were no reports of thunder in west Malaga during June.
Wind
The wind through June mainly followed a typical early summer pattern with northwesterly land breezes for a while during the mornings, followed by southeasterly sea breezes, these usually dying away after sunset. On the warmer days, especially during the last week, the land breezes either persisted all day, or were pushed aside for a while in the afternoon by gusty southwesterly winds running parallel to the beach. On most days the wind was light or gentle, but moderate breezes occurred during the first week, and again during the last week, when the only 3 gusts exceeding 20 knots (23 mph) occurred. On both the 28th and 29th there were gusts of 23 knots (26 mph).
Fog
There was misty low cloud on the morning of the 20th, but no fog was observed in west Malaga.
