Temperatures
The average maximum temperature during June 2019 in Malaga was 26.8 Celsius (80F), and that was 0.3 Celsius (<1F) below normal for the time of year. The average minimum temperature was 18.7 Celsius (66F), and that was 0.6 Celsius (1F) below normal for June.
The highest temperature recorded during the month was 32.2 Celsius (90F) on the 19th, but there were 4 other days when the temperature rose above 30 Celsius (86F), the 10th, 11th, 18th and 20th. There were several rather cool days, these spread fairly evenly through the month. On 11 occasions the temperature failed to rise above 25 Celsius (77F), with 4 of these cooler days having maxima below 24 Celsius (75F). The coolest day was the 17th with a high of 22.9 Celsius (73F).
There were several warm nights during June, and on 9 nights the temperature remained above 20 Celsius (68F). Only 2 of these warmer nights occurred before mid month, with the last 5 nights of June all having minima above 20 Celsius (68F). The warmest night of the month was the 29th with a minimum of 22.2 Celsius (72F), but the 20th was only 0.1 Celsius (<0.2F) less warm. The sea temperature, although 20 Celsius (68F) at the beginning of the month, soon fell to between 16 and 18 Celsius (61-64F) and remained low until the 23rd when a steady rise occurred. At the end of the month, the sea temperature had risen to 21 Celsius (70F).
Rain
There was no rain in West Malaga during June. So far this year less than 69 millimetres (2.7 ins.) of rain have fallen, a deficit of over 75%.
Thunder
There was no thunder heard in west Malaga during June.
Wind
A weak northwesterly land breeze occurred on most nights during June, with sea breezes developing, usually from late morning, and not dying away until after dusk. Strengths were generally light or gentle, but on a few occasions, particularly early in the month, the cold sea helped to generate moderate or fresh southwesterly winds rather than the gentle southeasterly sea breeze that prevailed on most afternoons. On 4 occasions the wind gusted above 20 knots (23 mph), with the highest gust of 23 knots (26 mph) occurring on the 5th.
Fog
No fog was observed in west Malaga during June.
