Temperatures

Rain

The first rain of the month occurred early in the evening on the 11th when a brief, but heavy, shower produced 0.4 millimetres (0.02 ins.) of rain. Showery bursts of dusty rain occurred on the evenings of both the 26th and 27th, with the rain lasting into the first part of both nights. However, the only measurable rain during this period was the 1.4 millimetres (0.05 ins.) that fell after midnight on the 27th.
Thunder
Thunder was heard on a total of 3 days during June. Fairly high level cloud from North Africa produced occasional thunder late on the evening of the 26th, and this rumbled on intermittently for about 4 hours. A rather similar event occurred on the following evening, but the thunder was more isolated and mainly to the east and north. It also lasted less than 3 hours and produced no measurable rain in this part of Malaga.
Wind
The wind directions during June were typical of an early Summer month. Northwesterly land breezes from late evening until late on the following morning, followed by southeasterly sea breezes until evening. There were a few afternoons when fresh south to southwest winds blew, but these winds only extended around 200 metres inland and were caused by the large differences between land and sea temperatures. The highest gusts recorded were only 19 knots (22 mph). However, the anemometer mast is sheltered from the southwest, and it is likely that higher gusts may have occurred on afternoons when winds blew from that direction.
Fog
