The New Terminal 3, Malaga

The new Terminal 3 was inaugurated by King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia on 15th March.
Malaga Airport is one of the busiest routes in Europe and because of the increase in numbers of passengers a planning procedure for a new terminal building was started in 2000.
The building work on the terminal has taken 5 years to complete.

The airport handled 11,622,443 passengers, 103,536 aircraft operations and 3,400t of cargo in 2009, and with the new terminal it will be able to handle 30 million passengers annually.

The terminal is 250,000m2 with 86 check-in desks.
Terminal 2 is now more or less closed and awaiting a total renovation.
