The breezes for December were typical for the time of year with west to northwesterly winds predominating overnight and during the mornings with occasional weak onshore southeasterly sea breezes during the afternoons. On a few days east or southeasterly winds were more dominant, notably during the unsettled interlude on the 13th and 14th, and in a cloudier spell of weather between the 21st and 23rd. Winds were mainly gentle or moderate with gusts only exceeding 20 knots (23 mph) on 5 days. The highest gust was 24 knots (27 mph), from the east, recorded on both the 13th and 22nd.
