The wind was predominantly from the northwest, except on the 5th, when breezes were light and variable or from the southwest, and on the 23rd when an early onset of a sea brreze led to to south, southeasterly breezes dominating. The lightest winds generally occurred in the first half of February. However, gusts exceeded 20 knots (23 mph) on 5 days, including a gust of 32 knots (37 mph) on the 10th. The end of February was particularly breezy with 9 out of the last 11 days having gusts of 20 knots (23 mph) or more.
